Goldens are not a one person breed.  They tend to share their affection freely with many, whether they are family, friends or strangers.  They form special bonds with the person who trains them, or whomever might spend the most time with them, but they will never exclude anyone.  They are seldom wary of strangers, rather they tend to bark, wag their tail and greet people with confidence and trust.

Goldens crave affection and will demand it at times.  Goldens delight in showing their affection, if allowed with sloppy kisses at times, nudging of hands and arms, attempt to climb on your lap or even the occasional bringing of items found throughout the house to play.  Golden Retrievers rate in the upper middle scale of intelligence.  They learn new tasks quickly and are highly trainable with strong motivation.
